|BRKC 2022 Postponed

It is with regret that we announce the postponement of BRKC 2022.

WHAT’S THE SITUATION?

Following lengthy discussions amongst the organisers, we have agreed that uncertainties surrounding the new Omicron COVID variant leave us no alternative but to postpone this year’s planned BRKC.

  • We are currently seeing high numbers of cancellations at an increasing rate. Unfortunately, whilst we have been able to fill most spaces, we anticipate substantially more cancellations as COVID-19 cases continue to rise and travel restrictions are imposed.
  • Based on current modelling, we could see between 10-40% of the driver line-up cancelling in advance of the event due to isolation or travel restrictions.
  • Unfortunately, the likelihood of being able to replace this number of drivers is low, especially at short notice. We feel that the event needs to stand a chance of being run at close to full capacity to make it as enjoyable and competitive as always, as well as being financially viable.
  • We are also concious of the likelihood that staff and crew may be unable to work the event for the same reasons. The risk of losing a key member of staff during the event is not one we are willing to take.

This decision has again been difficult. It is particularly frustrating that aside from entry numbers/isolation/travel rules, the event itself could be run close to normal with a full complement of drivers.

In coming to this decision now, we have tried to balance having the most up-to-date, informed information against the need to give competitors enough time to modify their travel arrangements if needed.

WHAT’S NEXT?

We are actively looking for a suitable replacement date to hold the event. When & if a date is found we will be in contact with all current entrants as soon as possible.

As per the BRKC COVID terms, all entrants will be credited their entry fee. You will not be out of pocket. Please contact sales@formulafast.co.uk if you have any queries about your entry in the meantime.

Formula Fast itself is open, so please do support us if you can. We are continuing to run events as normal (with COVID measures in place) and have recently completed some great upgrades we can’t wait to show you.

We wish everyone a very happy and safe new year, and look forward to seeing you soon.
