Introducing BRKC Hot Laps: Your Route to the 2027 Grid
Think you have the pace to compete at BRKC?
BRKC Hot Laps is a brand-new event combining the extended track time of Formula Fast Unlimited Karting with the competitiveness of the British Rental Kart Championship.
Across three standalone evenings, drivers will battle to set their best score and boost their standing on the Hot Laps leaderboard. Once all three events are complete, the five highest-scoring drivers will be offered an invite to the BRKC 2027 grid.
| Four Sessions to prove your pace
Each Hot Laps evening is limited to just 20 drivers, creating a focused and highly competitive field.
Following a random group draw on arrival, drivers will complete a warm-up before taking part in four 10-minute sessions. Points will be awarded during every session, with the fastest driver receiving 10 points, descending to 1 point for the slowest driver.
For the final session of the evening, drivers will be regrouped according to their rankings. That means the leading contenders will go head-to-head when it matters most, with one final opportunity to strengthen their overall score.
| A Level Playing Field
Hot Laps will follow key elements of the official BRKC regulations to create a fair test of driver performance.
All drivers must weigh a minimum of 90kg (up to 20kg can be provided in kart ballast) and will draw their karts randomly before the start of each session. Drivers must be aged 15yrs+ and be capable of lapping within 1.5 seconds of the fastest driver in any given session.
With no guaranteed kart and no control over the initial group draw, competitors will need to adapt quickly and deliver their best performance in every session.
Speed alone will not be enough. Consistency and the ability to perform under pressure could make the difference between qualifying and missing out.

Each Hot Laps evening is a standalone event. Drivers may enter multiple evenings to give themselves more opportunities to improve their result.
After the final event, the five highest scores on the overall Hot Laps leaderboard will earn a place in BRKC 2027.
